I’ve got a 2014 X5 that’s been brilliant for hauling the family around but I’ve noticed over the past few weeks that the rear end seems to sit lower than the front, especially when the car has been parked overnight. Once I start driving it seems to level out a bit but it never quite looks right. I took it to a tyre shop for a rotation and the guy pointed out that the rear tyres are wearing unevenly on the inside edge which he said could be suspension related. Started looking into shock absorber replacements because I’m pretty sure the original ones are still on the car at 140,000km which seems like a lot. Found a place advertising the Leading BMW Shock Absorber Replacement from Suspension Repair Dubai and they specifically mention the self levelling suspension that these X5s have. Does anyone know if the rear sag is definitely the shocks or could it be a compressor issue? Also how do you tell the difference between regular shock failure and air bag leaks? I’m trying to get an idea of what I’m in for cost wise because I’ve heard BMW suspension work can get very expensive very fast. The car drives okay still, no crazy bouncing or knocking sounds, just that saggy look that’s bothering me. Should I fix this urgently or can it wait a couple months? Don’t want to ruin a set of new tyres if I’m going to need to replace them anyway. Any advice appreciated.
