The power sliding door on our 2019 Pacifica has developed this infuriating habit where it starts to close, gets about three quarters of the way, then beeps and reverses back open like there’s an obstruction. I’ve cleaned the tracks thoroughly, checked for anything stuck in the seals, lubricated the rollers, and it still does it intermittently. Sometimes it works perfectly five times in a row then suddenly refuses to close, which makes me think it’s a sensor issue rather than a mechanical problem with the track. With two kids in car seats this door gets used constantly and my wife is losing patience with having to climb through the other side to close it manually. Looking for a Umm Suqeim Chrysler repair service that understands these power sliding door systems, I’ve heard they can be tricky to diagnose because there are multiple sensors and modules involved including the pinch detection system. Dynostar seems to work on a lot of Chrysler products and they mention electrical diagnostics which is probably what this needs rather than a mechanical repair. Anyone else with a Pacifica or Town and Country dealt with a power sliding door that reverses for no apparent reason, what was the fix and was it expensive? I’m worried about going to a shop that just throws parts at it, replacing motors and modules when it could be something simple like a misaligned sensor or a worn wiring harness at the hinge point. Also curious if there’s a way to disable the power function temporarily and just use the door manually without damaging the mechanism, that would at least keep the peace at home while I figure out a permanent solution.
