I know the Hemi tick is a famous thing on these Chargers but I’m trying to figure out if that’s what I’m hearing on my 2013 Charger R/T with 110,000km. There’s a ticking noise from the passenger side of the engine that gets louder when I accelerate. It’s not super loud but it’s definitely noticeable with the window down. I’ve read about broken exhaust manifold bolts being common on these, which sounds cheaper than internal engine issues. I need a shop in Dubai that knows Dodges specifically and can tell the difference between manifold tick, lifter tick, and injector noise. I found the Expert Dodge Repair Service at 800Sayara Dubai and they claim to specialize in American cars. Has anyone used them for engine diagnostics? I’m worried if it’s lifters because I’ve heard that can lead to camshaft damage if ignored. But I don’t want to pay for an engine tear down if it’s just a loose heat shield or exhaust leak. Is there a way to tell the difference myself? I tried listening with a long screwdriver to my ear and the noise seems loudest near the exhaust manifold but I’m not confident. Also how urgent is this? Can I drive it for a few more months or should I get it looked at immediately? Any advice from fellow Charger owners in Dubai would be great. Thanks.
