Let me start by prefacing I am not a swing coach. These drills are just drills based purely on mechanics.
The majority of righties out there have a hard time connecting their left side & as a result end up lumbar extending in their swing because they have a hard time getting into their left hip. The first drill is designed to activate the left adductor and glute.
The left foot should be dragging behind you into your back pocket. Left butt cheek underneath you, left hip high. The right knee should be driving into the floor which helps to get your opposite hip higher.
Hold for 3×10 or 15. On your exhale you want to push your left knee into an imaginary wall and tuck your butt underneath to drag into your back left pocket.
Your feels should be (left heel, adductor, glute). This starts to turn on sensory awareness. The second drill you are working on the same thing.
Just trying to feel your left side in your swing. Whether you do this hitting actual balls or just use a club and work on feels.
It’s an awesome way to work on connecting to your body better.
